Two brothers from the same family have died in a motorcycle accident in the Halabandaragama area on the Madampe–Kuliyapitiya Road this morning, while their mother was seriously injured.
Police said the accident occurred at around 5.30 a.m. when the motorcycle they were travelling on veered off the road and collided with a streetlight pole.
The deceased were two brothers, aged 17 and 11, who were residents of Weerakodiyana in the Dummalasuriya area.
Their mother, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, has been admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.
Madampe Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
