The Department of Meteorology has announced that rainy weather is expected in several parts of the island tomorrow (15) due to atmospheric disturbances in the lower atmosphere near Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, as well as the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, are expected to experience cloudy skies with intermittent rain or thundershowers tomorrow.
The Department of Meteorology has particularly warned that some areas in these regions could receive heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm.
In addition, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in other parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize risks from temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
